The Kitchen is a collaborative retail and manufacturing space shared by two local craft food partners Half Hill Farm and Short Mountain Cultures. The Kitchen serves the Arts Center's core mission by creating artisanal craft food products using centuries old sustainable food practices and traditions. The Kitchen will host educational workshops, events and sell product on site.
About Half Hill Farm
Half Hill Farm Inc is a small USDA Certified Organic farm located in Woodbury, TN that makes organic mushroom extracts and kombucha. Mushroom extracts are available onsite in 100 & 200 ml bottles. Kombucha can be tasted and purchased onsite at The Kitchen in half gallon (64 oz) bottles with refills on tap or 16 oz bottles. You can also find their kombucha in local stores and restaurants.
About Short Mountain Cultures
Short Mountain Cultures produces small batch tempeh. Tempeh is a fermented bean cake, originally from Indonesia and popularized in the U.S. by the back-to-the land movement of the 1960's. The soybeans for Short Mountain Culture Tempeh are locally sourced from Windy Acres Farm in Orlinda, Tennessee. Tempeh can be purchased onsite at The Kitchen located in the Arts Center of Cannon County, by calling, or emailing.
