Future Exhibits

Exhibits in both the Marley Berger Gallery and the Cannon Cultural Museum are planned several years in advance.  If you'd like a show please contact our curator to submit a portfolio and artist statement.  We at the Arts Center endeavor to root the exhibits firmly in the community, but also realize that great and inspiring work is produced everywhere

.

Some of our future shows include work by the Cumberland Furniture Guild, an exhibit of wood block prints from Fisk University Archives, a multi media assemblage about Junior Kimbrough's juke joint from local photographer Bill Steber, and a tag art/skateboard art inspired exhibit.

Exhibits in the Cannon Cultural Museum are themed exhibits that draw from the Arts Center's three permanent collections.  The themes allow the museum's curator to interpret artifacts through different perspectives.  The next exhibition will examine artwork and culture drawn from the soil-allowing the curator to examine salt fired pottery, wood working, the mud and pigment painting of Jimmie Lee Sudduth, the work of Alcoa's Bessie Harvey (featured at left), and the culture of ginseng digging
